Dear Readers,
Welcome to our first issue of 2010 and a belated Happy New Year to you all. Now that Christmas is but a distant memory some of us can look forward to the ‘spring cleaning’ season – yippee doo. I have to say I’ve already had a splurge at it. I’ve completely cleaned out 2 large cupboards that have been home to so much junk and bed linen that I will never use again, I mean when am I going to use ‘My Little Pony’ duvet covers - my daughters now 24 years old! So it was out with the old, back in with some, which has left a whole big space for the ‘yet to buy’ new. A friend of mine once gave me a tip about housework she said - if you were expecting a visitor and hadn’t had time to do much then put a few Get Well cards on the mantle piece so that it looked like you had been too ill to have done any. I think I know where she’s coming from as I left my Christmas cards up for as long as possible!
So here we are at the start of the year and I’m already in need of a volunteer. I’m looking for someone who I can call on ‘as and when’ to help cover with delivering a round of the newsletter when any of our regular distributors are on holiday or unwell. It may be that you could do it a few times or not at all depending on how things go. It’s always nice to have someone in reserve that I can turn to should the occasion arise. So if you would like to be “The One” please call me with your details on 825278 and I’ll put you in my book with all my other little helpers.
Now before I sign off I would like to say that now that the snow has gone and although we’re in a gloomy month it has been nice to see the ducks on the pond in the village. I don’t recall seeing them so regularly before the huge clean up at the site, or maybe they were there but I couldn’t see them through all the overgrowth. So, thank you to all those who have been working hard in improving the area it’s certainly looking so much nicer.
Well that’s it from me, don’t forget if you have a birthday greeting, any personal items you wish to sell or perhaps you have a favourite recipe you would like to share then let me know before the 15th of the month and I will include them for you – free of charge! Enjoy Pancake day on Tuesday 16th.
